As a long-time customer, ABB has over the years trusted Digitalo with developing and manufacturing hundreds of simulators that seamlessly connect to ABB’s protection relays for educational and demonstration purposes. With ABB’s newly launched all-in-one relay, the REX615, the collaboration continues.
Thanks to Digitalo’s Demo Boxes, ABB’s protection relays can be demonstrated and tested in different configurations both in internal trainings, customer demonstrations and for customer trainings at site. These simulators are relatively small, portable and have been developed in close cooperation between ABB and Digitalo.
“We have been using Digitalo’s Demo Boxes for decades, and as we now launched our new relay, it was natural for us to continue the collaboration. The previous Demo Boxes have been great and can be found world-wide,” says Olli Kauppila, Technical Sales Manager at ABB Distribution Solutions.
Flexible showcasing and training
The Demo Box created for the new REX615 relay can simulate different events and errors in the distribution network, showing the relay’s reaction to them in different settings. The new Demo Boxes will shortly be taken into use globally, both by local ABB offices and by ABB customers.
“The Demo Boxes provides us with a flexible way of showcasing our relays: When visiting customers, we bring them along to show the relay’s different features, and in trainings, everyone can independently learn to use the relay and test different configurations on their own simulators,” says Kauppila, who is happy to recommend Digitalo’s services and products to others as well:
“Our devices are complex and have many features, but Digitalo understands our products and challenges, and have been able to meet our changing needs over time. We have received good support and service from them, and their simulators are used by us daily.”
